What is happening?
Customer loyalty and rewards is an integral and exciting part of our overall business success, which is why it is imperative we continue to evolve our programs to meet the changing needs and expectations of our customers.

After an extensive review of our loyalty and rewards offerings and getting direct feedback from customers we have made the decision to retire our Reward Zone and Gamers Club program in 2018.

When do the changes go into effect?
March 28, 2018:
From this date we will no longer be accepting new members into the Reward Zone or Gamers Club programs.
April 4, 2018:
This is the final day Reward Zone and Gamers Club points will be issued.
November 7, 2018:
All outstanding certificates expire.

Are you launching a new rewards program I can sign up for?
Beginning in 2018, we will be rolling out a new loyalty approach. If you opt in to our email communication you'll receive personalized offers and special discounts. You can simply provide your email address online when you shop or in-store at the till to start receiving personalized perks and exclusive offers.

How can I sign up and receive special offers or rewards?
Earning rewards is easy, just make sure your email address is provided on every purchase in-store and on BestBuy.ca. We will be regularly offering perks and rewards including personalized offers/discounts, surprise and delight incentives, monthly draws and giveaways, and so much more.

Does this impact existing points that Reward Zone members have accrued?
No. The points Reward Zone and Gamers Club members currently have in their accounts are not impacted.

The final day of points issuance will be April 4, 2018. On May 11th, final certificates for these amounts will be issued. Members will have six months (180 days) to redeem their certificates, with all outstanding certificates expiring on November 7, 2018.

When will my points/certificates expire?
On May 11, 2018, all outstanding points will be converted to Reward Zone certificates. These certificates will expire on November 7, 2018.

What happens if I don't redeem my points/certificates before the expiry date?
All Reward Zone certificates expire six months (180 days) from the date of issue. This also applies for the final round of Reward Zone certificates.

I currently have no points or have expired points. What do I do?
If you currently don't have any points, no additional action is needed. However, for points that have expired, this may have occurred due to inactivity on your account. We're sorry but we are unable to reissue expired points.

    When does my membership expire?
    Your membership is valid as long as you make a qualifying purchase each calendar year. If no such purchase is made in a calendar year, your points will be cashed out and reward certificates will be issued in $5 increments. Any points remaining under $5 will be forfeited.

    How do I change my contact information?
    Sign in at BestBuyRewardZone.ca, select My Account, then My Profile. Once there, you can add or update your address and other contact information.

    Can my family or friends use my membership so I’ll earn extra points on their purchases?
    No. Memberships are non-transferable and are only valid for use by the person whose name is given upon registration.

    Why do you need my e-mail address?
    By providing an e-mail address, we are able to send you earned Reward Certificate(s) via e-mail in accordance with the Program Rules. With your consent, we may also let you know about new product releases, upcoming promotions, exclusive offers, contests, and special events.

    Can I use my Reward Zone™ membership card outside of Canada?
    The member card can only be used to earn points on purchases made at Canadian Best Buy retail stores and on BestBuy.ca.

    Where can I find my Member ID?

    • Your 13-digit Member ID can be found on the back of your membership card.
    • Your member ID can be found on the top right corner of Reward Zone emails.
    • You can always log into your member account and retrieve your Member ID or print your Reward Zone card by clicking here.

    Can I sign in with my e-mail address instead of my Member ID?
    Yes. You can use your e-mail address instead of your Member ID to make it easier for you to sign in to your account at BestBuyRewardZone.ca.

    What should I do if I’ve lost my card?
    Don’t worry. You can still receive points for your purchases. You can always log into your member account and retrieve your Member ID or print your Reward Zone card by clicking here.

    For in-store purchases, just tell the cashier you are a member of the Reward Zone™ program and provide your Member ID or the telephone number given at enrolment to receive points for your purchase.

    For online purchases at BestBuy.ca, once you enter your Member ID, it will be permanently stored in your account profile and points will be automatically awarded. If you require further assistance, contact us.

    How do I earn points?
    If you are a standard Reward Zone™ member, you'll earn 1 point for nearly every dollar spent at Canadian Best Buy stores or BestBuy.ca. Simply show your Reward Zone card in-store or enter your Member ID for online purchases. Reward Zone™ points cannot be earned on Best Buy Marketplace items.

    What if I forgot to provide my Reward Zone™ Member ID when I made a purchase?
    It’s easy to make sure you earn points on all your purchases. For in-store or online purchases, sign in to your account and select "Get Missing Points" in the left column. You can then update your previous purchase information by entering information from your sales receipt. You can also contact us for further assistance.

    What’s the difference between pending and posted points?
    Pending points are those points that have been allocated on recent eligible purchases. Pending points are not posted to your account until they’ve been validated. This validation occurs approximately 36 days after purchase or date of shipment.

    Once validated, posted points are eligible for reward certificates.

    Why can’t I view my most recent transactions?
    Pending points may take up to three full business days to appear. If after three days they still do not appear, contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

    Do my points expire?
    Points do not expire unless you do not make a qualifying purchase within a calendar year. If no such purchase is made in a calendar year, your points will be cashed out and reward certificates will be issued in $5 increments. Any points remaining under $5 will be forfeited. If your account is terminated for any reason, you will forfeit all points.

    Keep in mind that reward certificates do expire. See the expiration date on each certificate.

    The points you earned for that purchase will be deducted from your account.

    REWARD CERTIFICATES

    What can I purchase with my reward certificates?
    Reward certificates can be used toward the purchase of nearly any product or service in store. You must use them on an eligible product or service in an amount greater than the value of the reward certificate. Certificates may be combined with other offers, but they are valid on in-stock items only. At this time, reward certificates can only be used in-store and not at BestBuy.ca. A maximum of 15 RZ Certificates can be redeemed per transaction in-store. You may be asked to provide photo ID when redeeming Reward Zone certificates in-store.

    Can I save up my points for larger rewards?
    Yes, you may save certificates and put them together for a larger purchase, but keep in mind that each reward certificate has an expiration period from the date it was issued.

    Another option is to select a higher certificate issuance threshold in your account profile. Selecting a higher threshold allows you to accumulate more points before a reward certificate is issued. Once you’ve reached your selected threshold, all points will be cashed out to the default level.

    For example, if you select $20 as your threshold, you will not receive a reward certificate until you’ve accumulated enough points for $20 in reward certificates. Once you’ve reached your selected threshold, all points will be cashed down to the $5 level.

    Threshold options:
    $5 - default
    $10
    $20

    To change your certificate issuance threshold, sign in to your account, go to My Account and select My Profile.

    How will I know I received a reward certificate?
    Once you have earned 400 points or exceeded your selected threshold we will send your earned Reward Certificate(s) via e-mail in accordance with the Program Rules. Certificates will also be available for viewing and printing online through your Reward Zone™ account at www.bestbuyrewardzone.ca

    What if I don’t have an e-mail address?
    Most people have some kind of e-mail account these days, whether for personal use or work. Currently, members must supply an e-mail address in order for us to send earned Reward Certificate(s) via e-mail in accordance with the Program Rules.

    If you do not have an e-mail address, we recommend you set up a free web-based e-mail account with, for example, Gmail, Yahoo or Microsoft, and supply that address in your profile.

    Do reward certificates expire?
    Yes. They must be redeemed by the expiration date printed on each reward certificate. Each reward certificate is valid for 180 days from the date of issuance. Expired certificates cannot be reissued.

    What do I do if I lose my reward certificate?
    Lost, stolen or expired certificates cannot be replaced. However, they are available for printout in your account profile.

    Can I redeem my reward certificates on BestBuy.ca?
    No. At this time, reward certificates can only be redeemed in-store.
